Purchasing used car first then new car is better in case one is fresher in driving and do not want to invest too much money in a new car. Used car can be purchased on much lesser price than a new one. But the main decision one must take is whether to buy from certified dealer or from the owner of the car. There are pros and cons to both of these choices.

In case of car dealers, there are more options. One can choose from variety of options after checking personally each of the car one likes. The problem related to car can be checked only by thorough inspection, which one can do for those which are filter from the options among the variety. In-house mechanics of certified dealer can carry out required repairs and inspection through which costs can be saved. Though, getting car through dealer requires lot of paperwork. It makes car a bit more costly.

Used car for sale by owner is cheaper affair than by dealers. Owners are not obliged to repair the damage to car. In fact, sometimes, the repair costs used to increase a lot without knowing the things that are to be done is correct or not. Moreover, the details of used car and history details of car can be discussed with owner when one is purchasing from the owner. Profession, age, driving style etc are many factors which can be known after meeting the owner personally. Hence, buying used car from owner is a better option than the certified dealer.
